Client Background
Association for Women in Communications (hereinafter AWC) is a professional organization with a mission to “champion the advancement of women across all communications disciplines by recognizing excellence, promoting leadership and positioning its members at the forefront of the evolving communications era.” AWC Metro Phoenix is a new chapter looking to establish a strong social media presence focused on the needs of its target audience(s).
There are countless opportunities for the AWC Metro Phoenix chapter to use visual social media platforms to support their mission. This particular plan outlines several solutions for implementation in a cohesive campaign focused on the chapter’s desired recruitment strategy targeting female communications professionals and college students in the Metro Phoenix region.
In combination, YouTube, Tumblr, and Instagram will help AWC Metro Phoenix create varied but compatible visual products to represent their organization. The tools are easy to use and inexpensive, encouraging active participation by members at all skill levels.
In my Social and Digital Media class at Johns Hopkins University, we were asked to create an uplifting, fun and engaging video to be used by the Association for Women in Communications Metro Phoenix Chapter as part as of their social media outreach efforts. I am very proud of our collaborating efforts which culminated in a A+ at the end of our class. Please watch the video and see for yourself!
